Asking Questions in an Active Classroom is a 1-hour webinar, delivered by Ann Starks, that will support participants to extend and develop their questioning skills to make question and answer sessions active, fun and engaging for students. Oral questioning needs no resources and very little formal preparation. The webinar will explore how oral questioning can be used to guide the thinking of students and to encourage students to cooperate with each other in group work. It will look at a range of ‘prompt words’ and how to use questions for a range of purposes such as to guide thinking, to support less able students, to introduce problem solving and to provide stretching and challenging tasks.
